"Block 957 Merlot is dark garnet in the glass, it opens with a rich and complex bouquet of ripe plum, dark cherry, and black fig, layered with notes of iron-laced earth, dried violet, mocha, and a savory undercurrent of dried herbs. The palate is full-bodied and firmly structured, with the pronounced tannin and natural acidity characteristic of Howell Mountain fruit framing a generous core of dark berry, cedar, and subtle tobacco.
